over 15 years of experience
EasternOPS is a year round, full service, primitive and wilderness
skills school. We specialize in instructing groups and
individuals to feel comfortable in the Deciduous, Great Lakes-St.
Lawrence, Acadian and Boreal regions of Eastern and Central
Canada. Unlike other organizations, we do not include
philosophical or ideological components in our curriculum, we prefer a
common sense, "nuts and bolts" approach to wilderness
education.
By using this approach, students of EasternOPS will learn
specific techniques to survive in the northern regions of
Canada, particularly the Boreal and Northern Great-Lakes environment
using the bare essentials of equipment and outside resources.
Founded by Head Instructor Brian Stengele, EasternOPS strives to provide the most comprehensive wilderness experience possible for for its clientele in the hope that it will bring a closer understanding and appreciation of the role of the natural world within the context of the modern urban lifestyle.
